Wel­come to Spot­light, the bilin­gual report­age that cov­ers digital trends in the UK.

Spot­light is presen­ted by FIT, a Lon­don based bilin­gual design boutique, spe­cial­ising in digital design and pro­duc­tion. We work cross cul­tur­ally as we provide our ser­vices in both Eng­lish and Japan­ese. Our aim is to encour­age West-East com­mu­nic­a­tion across the Inter­net and act as a bridge to facil­it­ate this.

Issue one — Lon­don Digital Week

Lon­don Digital Week (LDW) is a week of con­fer­ences, work­shops, meet-ups, present­a­tions, net­work­ing, parties and exhib­i­tions bring­ing together the digital ori­ent­ated indus­tries here in the cap­ital of digital media. This umbrella event gath­ers many cre­at­ors and innov­at­ors, includ­ing exper­i­enced and start-ups, gath­er­ing together to dis­cuss, show­case, share know­ledge and net­work. This fest­ival aims to cel­eb­rate all those who have helped to put Lon­don firmly on the global digital map. This event premiered in 2009 will take place in and around Lon­don, gath­er­ing in the media rich areas of Shored­itch and Soho.

As a Lon­don based bilin­gual digital agency with an asso­ci­ation with Japan, we felt it would be an inter­est­ing exper­i­ment to write a report­age in both lan­guages. Some of the con­tent might appeal to the Japan­ese industry whist oth­ers to the UK industry and fur­ther afield. By par­ti­cip­at­ing in this pro­ject, it is our hope to encour­age both indus­tries to com­mu­nic­ate in a field where it is often per­ceived to be difficult.
